DV Demo Co wants everyone to be able to use this website and our online booking pages, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, zoom or a high-contrast setting.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We test the site against those guidelines and fix what we find, and we keep working on it.
What this site does
- Every link, button and form works with a keyboard alone, and the one you are on is outlined.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first stop on every page.
- Pages use headings in order and labelled areas (header, menus, main content, footer), so a screen reader can move around them.
- Photos have a text description. Images that are only decoration are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and buttons meet the WCAG contrast ratios in every color style this site can use.
- Every form field has a visible label, and a form that is missing something tells you what to fix.
- Pages fit a phone screen and can be zoomed to 400% without scrolling sideways.
- Buttons and links are large enough to tap: at least 24 by 24 pixels.
- Animations stop when your device is set to reduce motion, and a background video has a pause button.
- The service area map has a text description that names the towns we serve.
Booking online
This statement covers our online booking pages too: checkout, the booking status page and the payment and receipt pages we send you. They are held to the same WCAG 2.2 AA standard, work with a keyboard and a screen reader, and the help below covers them.
